Working at Indivior

Nearly 1,000 passionate Indivior colleagues around the world are working to help change patients' lives.

What aspects of your current role do you most enjoy?
Angela Monico: One of the aspects of my role I enjoy the most is being involved in the process of change in treatment facilities, hospitals and primary care offices. I enjoy not only sharing with people who have the same views of opioid use disorder treatment, but also being able to share with those who see things differently.

How are you inspired by patients in your current role?
AM: When I hear how a patient takes “a leap of faith” to try something new or different, even though their fears are strong and very real, I am inspired to try harder to support the HCPs and support staff.  To engage in dialogue with staff about this medication just reminds me of the opportunity and responsibility we all have in fighting this growing epidemic.

Which of Indivior’s six guiding principles speak most closely to you in your day-to-day work?
AM: Focusing on patient’s needs to drive decisions is absolutely what I think of and act on naturally. To see this as one of the guiding principles was very important to me. Training on the disease of addiction is so important.  I believe that by increasing knowledge in this area, we have a better chance of increasing access to treatment for the OUD population.

How would you describe Indivior’s culture?
AM: When I started with Indivior over five years ago, I was so inspired by how Indivior incorporated our culture and our Guiding Principles.  I think it’s so important for us all to demonstrate it daily in all we do.  I continue to be encouraged by how, as employees, we are able to discuss and bring forth ideas and topics to support and improve our culture in changing times.

Can you tell us more about your background before Indivior?
AM: Prior to working for Indivior, I practiced as a chemical dependency counselor social worker for over 10 years.  While working in the Syracuse, New York area, I worked closely with patients and became known for my care with this population and my belief and support in using appropriate medication along with counseling as a path to recovery. My passion and dedication to give hope to this population made me a good fit for Indivior.

What attracted you most about Indivior when you decided to join the company?
AM: I was at first very apprehensive to leave my counseling role due to the importance of good direct care and counseling of patients. Then I realized that being able to be more active with a broader spectrum of HCPs to support patients appropriate for medication assisted treatment was a way to support individual patients as well.  This really encouraged me to join Indivior. I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

What aspects of your current role do you most enjoy?
The people!  It’s great to bring such a diverse, cross-functional group of stakeholders together to progress our assets. It’s enjoyable to see colleagues come together to strategize and execute.

How are you inspired by patients in your current role?
The patient is at the heart of teams that work to deliver the vision for the products in development and lifecycle phases.  Understanding unmet patient needs, what Indivior can do to address them, and then working with the team to deliver the planned initiatives, is inspiring.  We know what a life-changing difference this can make to patients and their loved ones.

Which of Indivior’s six guiding principles speak most closely to you in your day-to-day work?
Seek the wisdom of the team.  Each person has something to bring to the table and facilitating cross-functional discussion, and making sure people have the opportunity to have their voice heard before  coming to aligned path forward is something that is close to me in my day-to-day work.

How would you describe Indivior’s culture?
The culture enables an atmosphere where you can grow and thrive with colleagues that genuinely care about their work and each other.  It allows you to learn a lot over a short period of time and gain broad experience in different functions.

Can you tell us more about your background before Indivior?
Working for Indivior was my first full-time job.  I joined as a Year-in-Industry student in 2010, as part of my Chemistry degree, and then returned to take on a full-time role upon graduation.  I’ve since enjoyed various roles within the company while obtaining professional qualifications, in Project, Program and Portfolio Management, Strategic Implementation and my MBA.

What attracted you most about Indivior when you decided to join the company?
I really enjoyed the opportunities that I had as a placement student, and engaged with the company’s vision and mission, so returning was a simple decision for

What aspects of your current role do you most enjoy?
Diola Johal: Variety! In my role as Head of Global Demand and Export Planning, I enjoy linking with a broad spectrum of functions and diverse cultures. My role connects with various teams across the globe. I’m very aware that strong service levels are only possible through close cross-functional collaboration.

How are you inspired by patients in your current role?
In Supply Chain, I think striving to meet high service levels is part of our DNA. It certainly doesn’t come without its challenges, but ensuring patient supply inspires us to figure how to overcome the hurdles.

Which of Indivior’s six guiding principles speak most closely to you in your day-to-day work?
“Seek the wisdom of the team” for me equates to wanting to learn or improve how things are done, but also being humble enough to listen to new ideas. I like to see and encourage a continuous improvement mindset. Hence, this guiding principle probably speaks most closely to me.

How would you describe Indivior’s culture?
At Indivior we’re clear that standing still is not an option. It does sounds like a cliché, but I would describe our culture as pioneering. Despite being a global organization that has gone through a lot of change over recent years, we manage to keep a warmth and friendliness which I love.

Can you tell us more about your background before Indivior?
I’ve worked in supply chain for several food, beverage and pharma organizations for nearly 30 years.

What attracted you most about Indivior when you decided to join the company?
Our guiding principles really did align to my own principles, and a company that’s prepared to treat addicts as patients did sound unique and intriguing. If I could introduce another guiding principle it would be “listen to ensure understanding,” which is something I feel Indivior does through the treatment of patients.

What aspects of your current role do you most enjoy?
Internally, I really enjoy the cross-functional collaboration, whether I am advising on criminal justice systems with other access directors or collaborating with members of other teams.  Externally, I enjoy interacting with key decision-makers within various health systems of care to ensure patients have access to treatment.

How are you inspired by patients in your current role?
I am inspired by knowing what we do has the potential to change lives.  Nothing is more inspiring to me than knowing that someone has the potential to turn his or her life around for the better.  Indirectly, the family and friends of those struggling with addiction or schizophrenia are also affected.

How would you describe Indivior’s culture?
The culture at Indivior allows one to thrive in an exciting and challenging work environment with people that genuinely care about each other’s personal and professional well-being.  The culture here exceeds my expectations.

What do you feel is most important about helping justice-involved individuals who suffer from addiction and mental health?
What is most important to me is helping those who find themselves in a position that does not allow them to help themselves and educating those with the responsibility of treating them.
